The website is now updated with summer and fall performances! This July, Katie will again join Aria412 for another fun concert at Hop Farm Brewing Company, this time featuring classics from the Great American Songbook. Later in the month, she will once again join forces with local pianist Eric Dzugan to give a recital of works by Sergey Rachmaninoff as a part of the Exploring the Piano series. In lieu of the cost of admission, donations will be taken for Razom for Ukraine, supporting Ukraine's survival and fight for freedom.

In the fall, Katie will join Pittsburgh Savoyards (after a 7 year break from the Savoyards stage!) in a role debut as Phyllis, "an Arcadian shepherdess and ward in chancery," in Gilbert and Sullivan's Iolanthe. See the link in the calendar on this page for details and tickets.

Announcement: Ongoing fundraiser for Ukraine TrustChain in connection with last summer's Concert of Ukrainian Words and Music

High quality recordings of Katie's renditions of rarely performed Ukrainian repertoire, together with instrumental works and poetry that were performed at Pitt's Concert of Ukrainian Words and Music last summer are now available for download in return for a donation of any size to Ukraine TrustChain. This ongoing fundraiser is a continuation of the concert's fundraising effort last summer at the benefit event sponsored by Pitt's Summer Language Institute and Department of Music and featuring professional musicians associated with Pitt, Summer Language Institute faculty and students, and a traditional Ukrainian bandurist. It was a wonderful fall and winter season making the most in-person music since COVID and continuing to raise funds for Ukrainians and share Ukrainian culture through music performance (photo from benefit concert with musicians of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, sponsored by the Three Rivers Young Peoples Orchestras and raising money for Nova Ukraine -- please consider donating!). Please check the site again in early summer for some announcements including an upcoming Rachmaninoff event and new roles and new music.

The website is updated at last after a long hiatus!

Katie is excited to announce a busy line-up of performances this fall after two years of sparse performance opportunities and numerous pandemic-related cancellations. Katie will join Pittsburgh Opera again as a chorus soprano in Dvorak's Rusalka (long-awaited in the Burgh after being pandemic-cancelled two seasons ago). In October she will join her friends in the Pittsburgh music community for a fun and relaxed cabaret-style performance with Aria 412, themes "60s British Invasion," then later she joins colleagues at University of Pittsburgh to contribute East European songs and arias to the performance line-up at the annual East European festival. Finally, in December Katie will team up once again with local pianist Eric Dzugan for a composer anniversary concert in honor of Déodat de Séverac.

This past summer, Katie had the honor of producing and performing in the most meaningful concert of her life: a fully Ukrainian program co-produced by Pitt's Summer Language Institute and Department of Music, featuring poetry, music, and art of classical and contemporary Ukrainian artists and benefitting Ukrainian refugees and defenders. The live-streamed video is available for viewing here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuFtbu-cQuI

Due to a technical issue, a few pieces from the program were not live-streamed, including an incredible trio for soprano, violin, and piano by Vasyl Barvinsky, which Katie performed with Pitt colleagues Roger Zahab (violin) and Robert Frankenberry (piano). The audio recording of the piece "Song of Songs" will be made available on Youtube soon.

If you appreciate this content, please consider making a donation for a relief fund for Ukrainians or their defense. The concert's selected beneficiaries were:
