Katie will be adding a new Russian role to her repertoire this spring with her debut as Domna Saburova in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride at Opera Bel Cantanti in Maryland. It promises to be a wonderful production of a work rarely performed in the US!
April 6, 2019
Update: The Slavic Spring Festival organized by the University of Pittsburgh was rescheduled for April 14th. Katie will sing selections in Russian and Czech with pianist Rebekah Hill at around 3pm at the University of Pittsburgh's Posvar Hall Galleria and Patio.
Also, look out for Katie's first performance singing in the Armenian language this fall!
March 3, 2019
Katie will be participating in a few fun, relaxed events this spring. In March she will sing at her second "Opera on Tap" event of 2019. Dressed down opera arias in a bar -- nothing could be more fun! Then in April, Katie will once again appear with Aria 412 at Wallace's Whiskey room for a Shakespeare themed presentation of opera, musical theater, and cabaret songs.
In April, Katie will joyfully sing at an event being organized by many of her own students at Pitt -- a Spring Slavic Festival sponsored by Pitt's Slavic Language Clubs. Look for an announcement with more details about this event later!
August 23, 2018
Arabella was a great success at Pittsburgh Festival Opera and Katie immensely enjoyed taking on her first Strauss role. Check out the press and gallery pages for links to the review and new photos from Arabella.
This fall, Katie will appear in two concerts in Maryland and Pittsburgh, singing arias from Gluck's Orpheus and Euridice and Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride in Maryland and a program of Debussy art songs in Pittsburgh.
