Katie had an unforgettable experience singing for the Armenian Community in Cleveland at a one-night concert commemorating the 150th anniversary of the founder of the Armenian national school of music, Komitas Vartabed. It was a great challenge to sing in the Armenian language for the first time and an honor to share the stage with the other accomplished and talented musicians at the event. The full recording of the concert is available to view online:
Upcoming engagements on Katie's calendar include an eclectic holiday concert in Maryland with Opera Bel Cantanti and a program of Russian music in Pittsburgh in March on Pitt's campus, sponsored by Pitt's Year of Creativity, which will include the Pittsburgh premiere of Stravinsky's one-act opera, Mavra.

Katie will be adding a new Russian role to her repertoire this spring with her debut as Domna Saburova in Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride at Opera Bel Cantanti in Maryland. It promises to be a wonderful production of a work rarely performed in the US!
